Welcome Dr. Alex Mirakian!
Southern Cancer Center is thrilled to announce the launch of our Radiation Oncology services in Baldwin County, and introduce board-certified radiation oncologist Dr. Alex Mirakian to our team.
Although he is new to the Gulf Coast region, Dr. Mirakian brings over 20 years of clinical oncology experience with him. His training includes fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas and Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, and residency at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center in his native home of Australia.
“I’m thrilled to join such a highly regarded oncology practice as Southern Cancer Center and look forward to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic methodology and the latest radiation treatment technologies to the community,” said Dr. Mirakian. “I’ve always prided myself on giving informative, common sense advice to patients to help them better understand their diagnosis, enabling them to make informed decisions about their treatment path.”
With the addition of radiation oncology, Southern Cancer Center is now the only community-based multidisciplinary oncology practice in lower Alabama. Comprised of 17 providers at six convenient locations across the area, we bring an integrated, team-based approach to cancer care. Utilizing collaboration, personalization and the most innovative treatment options available, we are effectively treating the whole patient, not just their cancer.
“As the needs of our community grow and evolve, Southern Cancer Center remains committed to the patients we serve. We are excited to welcome Dr. Alex Mirakian and are confident that he will continue our mission of delivering excellence in every aspect of patient care,” said Dr. Brian Heller, president of Southern Cancer Center.
Dr. Mirakian is now accepting patients at our Baldwin County clinics in Daphne and Foley. To schedule an appointment, please call 888-625-6896.
