Postponed from its original date back in the spring due to COVID-19, iHeart Media’s 2nd Annual “Sista Strut Breast Cancer Walk” has now become a virtual event taking place on Saturday, July 25th in Mobile, Alabama.
Participation is easy. Get your team together in a place of your choosing and WALK! Then post your pictures on social media using #StrutTheStreets2020. Registration opens July 9th and includes a race tshirt, rokBand and downloadable race bib: REGISTER HERE.
Help us cover the streets with friends and neighbors and all walk together in support a united cause – fighting breast cancer. Southern Cancer Center is pleased to be a sponsor of this event again this year.
The mission of Sista Strut is to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well as provide information on community resources. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends, heightens community awareness and promotes early detection and the search for a cure. Studies show that African American women are more likely than other ethnicities to be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 40, and also more likely to have aggressive tumors.
