“Bell Ringers” August Support Group Meetings
Mark your calendar! Southern Cancer Center is resuming its “Bell Ringers” support group meetings, beginning next month. Check out the August meeting dates below. Please note we are now offering a new virtual meeting option. Masks and social distancing are REQUIRED for all in-person meetings. Southern Cancer Center offers multiple support groups to assist our patients and their families in coping with their cancer journey. Meetings are free to attend and open to all individuals touched by cancer, including those who did not receive their treatment at Southern Cancer Center. Group meetings are held monthly in both Mobile and Baldwin County, and sessions typically last one hour.
Most patients join a support group to be with others who have similar cancer experiences. Our members often share the same struggles and come together to support each other, and suggest new ways of dealing with a particular problem. We understand that joining a support group for the first time can be uncomfortable. Everything that takes place in this setting is confidential and will not be shared outside of these meetings. A support group can often teach new skills and assist with: emotional support, ways to reduce stress, better management of emotions, provide a sense of control, reduce feelings of hopelessness, improve quality of life, provide a safe & supportive environment to talk openly.
All meetings are open to the public.
