Your Support System — A cancer diagnosis affects more than just your physical health, and there are many different avenues of support that cancer patients still need during their cancer journey.

On Friday, June 25, Southern Cancer Center’s Michelle Sanford, nurse practitioner, and Stephanie Andrews, head of social services, spoke with WKRG in their “The Doctor Is In” monthly medical segment to discuss the psychological, social, and practical resources patients often need in conjunction with their cancer treatment.

They touched on topics such as the most common peripheral problems related to a cancer diagnosis, what type of help patients should ask for during treatment, and what various services Southern Cancer Center offers to assist patients with these specific needs.

See what tips and suggestions they have for patients, caregivers, and friends in their interviews here: www.wkrg.com/news/the-doctor-is-in-your-support-system.
