Congratulations to Southern Cancer Center’s nurse practitioner Skyler Martin for being chosen as a member of Mobile Bay’s 2020 Class of 40 Under 40! Skyler joined SCC in 2013 as a chemo infusion nurse and was quickly promoted to a physician nurse shortly thereafter. In 2015, she completed her master’s degree in nursing from Auburn University and became a certified registered nurse practitioner for our Baldwin County clinics.

In the summer of 2020, she received her genetic counseling certification and now oversees all facets of our genetic counseling and testing services, including our new high-risk breast cancer program. From telling colorful stories about her elderly dog Otis to answering questions of why she ran a marathon if no one was chasing her, Skyler continues to deliver exceptional care to her patients with a humor-filled, respectful, and personal touch that’s hard to replicate.

She remains committed to her patients and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as a part of the Southern Cancer Center family. An honor well deserved!
