Sees patients
Huntsville Hospital

“Hi, my name is Harmony Savage. I’m a physician assistant and I’ve been with Southern Cancer Center since 2019. I’m married and I have two young girls. We like to spend our time outside whenever we can hiking and kayaking, and just playing on a play set. We love to travel anywhere that is hot all the time, I never want to go anywhere cold.

I think when I first started to be a physician assistant, I didn’t know exactly what field that I wanted to work in. So, I started at urgent care and the ER, and it was really difficult not to have any kind of long-term relationship with any patients.

At Southern Cancer Center, something that’s very unique is that patient access is very important to us. When they start treatment, they feel poorly from their cancer and then they also feel poorly from the treatment. We’ll help them with each step. It might seem really overwhelming, but we’ll meet often to talk about side effects and your symptoms, and what we can do for them here and at home, and just be a support system.

One thing that I love to see is a patient’s progress. Whether it’s ending treatment or starting to feel better, either way I just love to see their progression. At the end of each day what really makes me feel fulfilled is knowing I impacted at least someone’s life in a positive way.”
