“I’m Chloe Smith. I’m a nurse practitioner and I’ve been with Southern Cancer Center since 2022. I’m married and we have a little boy. We really enjoy just hanging out. We used to live in Orlando, so a Disney family. We really enjoy doing that together, taking trips down there – we still go and visit friends. I do my best to exercise, but I’m not a Cross-fitter or anything like that, just a little bit of movement to get the blood going to my brain some. And reading, I love to read.

My aunt, my dad’s sister, had breast cancer. Following along her journey through that and the providers and the nurses that took care of her, it was a really special opportunity to connect with people, so I really was interested in doing that.

From the time I started here meeting some really great, great patients and really wonderful patients, and I do find that not only me walking in with a positive attitude can make a huge difference, but them coming in with a positive attitude – I truly do feel that there is a mind-body connection. Because it is a smaller practice, we do have the opportunity to really make connections with people. Especially, I see the nurses in the treatment room and the patients there, they really do get to know them.

I think going into any conversation, especially with our patients and what they present with, I always really want them to know from the get-go that I’m here for them and I’m kind of walking alongside them in this journey from the time we first meet ‘til, in my case, when they leave the hospital. That’s always really important that they know that I’m right there with them.”
