Southern Cancer Center is participating in a Medicare initiative called the Oncology Care Model (OCM), aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of specialty care. OCM is specific to oncology practices administering chemotherapy treatments… that’s us! The goal of this payment model is to increase the standard of care being provided to our patients while decreasing the cost associated with this care.

Better Access

You will have 24/7 access to clinical staff with real-time access to your medical records.

Everyone's on the Same Page

Your records will be easier to receive and share with your other coordinating physicians through our improved certified medical record technology.

Quality Checks

Your care will be continuously reviewed to see where we can make improvements.

Step By Step

Our dedicated patient care navigators are focused on providing ongoing support and education throughout each step of your journey.

Consistency

SCC physicians are committed to providing high quality care that is consistent with nationally recognized treatment pathways.

Improvement

We will be using the data provided to SCC from this program to evaluate our processes towards continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Cost

These enhanced services are provided to our OCM participants at no additional cost.

Your Opinion Counts

All OCM Beneficiaries will receive a survey from SCC and potentially the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS). Your feedback is vital and welcomed to assist us in making this program its most successful.

New EOB Entries

You may notice a new item listed on your Explanation of Benefits(EOB), called a MEOS charge. This is a nominal fee that is paid to SCC to assist in covering the additional costs related to providing the enhanced services listed above. Remember, there is no additional out-of-pocket cost to you.

Additional Information

Practices chosen for this pilot program will be evaluated on both financial and quality based metrics for patients receiving chemotherapy through categories such as care coordination, navigation and overall patient experience… the latter is extremely important to us here at SCC!

SCC is delighted and honored to be chosen for this pilot program and believes this is a positive step in our healthcare system in providing our patients excellent care without high costs to Medicare. After all, we have already been following these ideas within our own practice for many years. Our ultimate goal is to make sure your needs are met. Thank you for allowing us to take care of you. Our Patients are our Passion and we strive to give you the best care we possibly can!
