SCC Named “best Practice Model”
SCC was honored recently to present on a national learning series webinar, as we were chosen as having a Best Practice Model for engaging clinical staff in the Medicare Oncology Care Model! Lauren Pettis, our VP of Clinical Operations lead the presentation. This was an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our practice and the work we’ve done to make SCC a shining star in this new health care model.
Back in July of 2016, SCC was chosen as 1 of only 200 oncology practices across the nation to participate in this 5-year Medicare pilot program, Oncology Care Model (OCM), aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of specialty care. OCM is specific to oncology practices administering chemotherapy treatments… like us. The goal of this payment model is to increase the standard of care being provided to our patients while decreasing the cost associated with this care.
SCC is delighted to be chosen for this pilot program and believes this is a positive step in our healthcare system in providing our patients excellent care without high costs to Medicare. After all, we have already been following these ideas within our own practice for many years. Our ultimate goal is to make sure our patients’ needs are met. Our Patients are Our Passion and we strive to give them the best care we possibly can!
