George Spurlock

On March 14, George Spurlock, Quality Program Lead here at Southern Cancer Center, participated in Capitol Hill Day as part of the Association of Community Cancer Centers Annual Meeting and Cancer Center Business Summit. George had the great privilege to meet with the Legislative Directors for both Senators Richard Shelby and Doug Jones, as well as Congressman Bradley Byrne. It was a very productive day of meetings, focusing on gaining their support on 3 key issues within the oncology space, the Oral Drug Parity Act, Palliative Care & Hospice Education, as well as the Cancer Care Planning and Communications Act. George also relayed the ACCC’s guiding principles suggestions as it relates to the very hot 340b Reform discussion. This was an incredible opportunity to represent Southern Cancer Center and more importantly, you, our patients.
